Each year our members are surveyed about the types of professional development activities you would most want to attend. Last year 65% of our members who answered the survey said that learning about new tools was their highest priority. So, we started out the 2024-25 school year with the topic of Online Tools For CS Classes.
Did you miss our September 2024 Chapter Meeting?

You can also download a PDF of the tools that were shared. If additional resources were added these are not included in the PDF.
At each CSTA GLA chapter meeting, we spotlight someone related to computer science that you and your students might find inspirational. At our September 2024 meeting, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we our spotlight was on Dr. Ellen Ochoa. Dr. Ochoa, who was born in Los Angeles, was the first Hispanic female astronaut. She is a great example of perseverance and not giving up on your dreams since she she finally became an astronaut after being turned down by NASA twice. Of particular interest to those of us involved with computer science, she is the co-inventor on 3 patents: an optical inspection system, an optical object recognition method, and a method for noise removal in images.
